Horse Riding in Cappadocia

The ultimate Cappadocia Cowboy Experience awaits you with FreeZone Travel!

You only have to look at the name Cappadocia and its true meaning to understand perfectly the role that horses have played throughout the history of this incredible region.  So what better way to see these unique landscapes than on horseback, gently meandering your way through the many beautiful valleys which surround Göreme.

The name CAPPADOCIA comes from the Old Persian word “KATPATUKA”, meaning “The Land of Beautiful Horses”and wild horses have been present here in Cappadocia for more than 2,000 years, (even today they roam wild in the lands surrounding the base of Mount Ercyres), so it’s only right that these wonderful animals still play a very active part in the Cappadocia that you can enjoy today.

Here at FreeZone Travel we are proud to offer our guests the excellent services of the renowned, local horse ranch The Dalton Brothers. In doing this it guarantees each of our guests the very best in their chosen horse riding adventure during their visit to the region. The Dalton Brothers ranch is located just minutes from the centre of Göreme and is owned and run by Ekrem Ilhan, (known locally as “The Horse Whisperer”) and it is under his guidance that all of the Dalton Brothers horses are fully trained, ensuring then to offer the very highest level of guest experience.

If your visit to the region is a short one (1 - 3 days) then there are a range of daily “tours” available for you to choose from and these will allow you to fully enjoy the ıncredible trails through Rose ValleyRed ValleySword Valley, Love Valley and White/Honey Valley.  The route you will be taken will depend on certain factors on the day – namely the length of the tour (1 - 7 hours), the weather conditions that day and of course, your level of riding experience (your safety is the No.1 priority at all times) These daily tours normally begin around 10am but there are also late afternoon tours or sunset tours.  If, however, you prefer a Private Tour then simply let us know and we will be delighted to assist you with this.

However if your stay here in Cappadocia is of a longer nature, (and you are looking for the “ultimate horse riding experience”), then the 3,4 or 5-day horse riding adventure is definitely something you should strongly consider.

Each day you will spend between 6 – 8 hours on horseback as you explore Cappadocia to its full. Daily you will trek through valleys, unique “orchard-filled” landscapes, through incredible rock formations and small villages - basically everything that IS the wonderful, often mystical region of Cappadocia.

For your nightly accommodation you can choose to either stay in local hotels/pensions, or for the real “cowboy & cowgirl” amongst you, why not camp under the stars with your horse tethered to a nearby tree.
