Traditional Turkish Night

Turkey is a country which is steeped in dance & musical culture and there are few better ways to experience the diversity of this than a TRADITIONAL TURKISH NIGHT.

The FreeZone Turkish Night Show allows you to relax & enjoy the many culturally diverse faces of Turkey through experiencing its food, its drink, its dance and its music.

You will be collected at your hotel at around 8pm and transported to a local restaurant where you will be treated to a delicious, traditional Turkish wedding meal of appetisers followed by a main course of lamb with rice. However, please make sure you leave some room for dessert! If you haven’t yet discovered, Turkey is country famous for its sweet treats. Complimentary drinks, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, will be served along with your meal.

Once you have enjoyed your dinner the show begins with a display by a group of Turkish folk dancers dressed in the traditional style which has remained for centuries.  This spectacular opening includes a performance of a traditional wedding ceremony dance by the bride & groom. Dazzling in her beautiful red dress, the bride will enter and wait as the groom arrives to “show off” what he believes are his many good features. It is here that his good looks, his strength and his wealth are all displayed during this exchange.  These are all individually rejected as unimportant by the bride before finally she accepts him, but only after he tells her “his heart beats only for her!

At this point complete joy ensues, the music now gets faster and louder and guests (including you) are all invited to the floor to celebrate their true love with the couple.

After you return to your seats (not least to catch your breath) the displays of traditional Turkish music and dance from across many regions continue for your enjoyment before the highlight of the evening – The Turkish Belly Dancer

To the beating of the drums she makes her grand enterance and thoroughly entertains all before her with the Turkish style of belly dancing. This style is accepted as being more lively & energetic than the Middle Eastern version and your dancer will mesmerize you whilst showing off her adept use of her finger cymbols, or zils as they are known. Once she has finished her solo performance she will then "carefully" select one man from each table to teach them the “basic” moves involved in belly dancing. Ladies make sure you have your camera ready!!

The night then carries on with displays of Fire DancingKnife Dancing and comes to an end with the Turkish Drumming Display.

It’s now time for you say goodnight to your new friends around your table and to be transported back to your hotel for a good nights sleep – you have certainly earned it!
